Now, as a professional instructor, he says, “Perhaps most gratifying of all has been the opportunity to empower others who want to take control of their physical well-being.” Qi Gong harnessed his body back into his own control, and empowered him with the sense of complete self-control, both physically, energetically and mentally. His own body was a mystery – worse, a daily inconvenience.

What started out as a means of curing his wrist pain turned into a lifetime pursuit and a way to quantify a feeling of daily (and yearly) personal progress.īefore practicing these arts, he relied on someone else to fix or heal his ailments. His mind was clear and digestive issues he lived with since childhood were also resolved When he practiced consistently, not only was his body released from tension and pain, but it helped him to develop strength, coordination, patience and mental focus. Within a year of regular practice of Qi Gong and Ba Gua Zhuang, Jonathan’s pain was gone. The man carried himself with such calm, such effortlessness and grace, Jonathan was compelled to watch and listen. He only presented a set of movement and breathing exercises, called Qi Gong. The man he met offered no cure, no quick fix and no abatement to his pain. Jonathan was skeptical, one day, when a friend recommended an acupuncturist. Discomfort, sharp pains, weakness these are all parts of life, he was told, and, after accepting that, he lived with it for 7 more years. Many doctor visits ensued, and all of them were in agreement: nothing was wrong. Jonathan had worked as an electrician for years – pulling heavy wires, drilling into concrete – and had developed chronic wrist pain that made suffering a part of his job and daily life. Had surgery already and it didn't work or you were told surgery will fix the problem but you are feeling reluctantīeen told by a family member or friend that “everybody gets aches and pains as they get older” - making it easy to accept it’s “just a part of life” Thought it would be a good idea to rest because the pain was so bad, but all that did was make the area even more stiff and tight Tried a few YouTube exercises, but those exercises either didn’t do a thing or aggravated the pain making it 10 times worse Paid several visits to the Doctor, only to be told to “rest” and “take some painkillers” - then weeks later go back to see the Doctor again, only to be prescribed MORE rest, and an even stronger dose of painkillers Thought their pain would go away on it’s own - but it didn’t

People who come to work with us have often: Or, maybe you’re left feeling confused, even skeptical because you’ve gotten advice from other Healthcare professionals or a PT in the past, and nothing they seemed to say or do helped. We also know it’s very easy to reach into the cupboard for the painkillers, and take them whenever pain strikes so it eases off fast - but all those painkillers are no good for your health long-term, and do nothing but mask the pain instead. When something like chronic pain sets in your knee, lower-back, neck or shoulders, or if you experience an injury from sport or exercise - we know it’s very tempting to leave it and hope it’ll simply “go away on it’s own” with time and rest… That you’ll wake up someday and like “magic”, it’ll be as if it never happened in the first place - but that’s usually not the case, and often the pain ends up worse than it was when it first started. We have been working with former athletes, dancers, actors, business professionals, moms and dads professionally since 2016.
